Deletion is one request away. Here's exactly what gets removed, how long it takes, and the limited records we're required to keep.
A deletion request permanently erases the personal data associated with the request from our active systems:
A limited set of records may be retained where the law requires it — for example, completed-order and tax records, and minimal logs needed to prevent fraud or meet accounting obligations. These are kept only as long as required and are not used to power the agent.
Deletion begins immediately and completes across active systems and backups within 30 days. You receive a confirmation when it's done. Backups are cycled out on their normal schedule; data in expired backups is unrecoverable.
Because you are the merchant, requests from your own customers usually come to you first. Clinch gives you tools to fulfil them: search a customer, export their data, and delete it in one action. If a customer contacts us directly, we route the request to you and help you complete it.
For customers who reach you through WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger, Clinch supports the data-deletion callbacks required by the Meta platforms. When such a request is received, the associated conversation data held by Clinch is deleted on the same 30-day timeline, and we confirm completion back to the platform where required.
